Why "Counterpane?"

 

One of Kate’s favorite books growing up was The Counterpane Fairy by Katharine Pyle. In the story, a young boy is bedridden and has a counterpane (a patchwork quilt) over his knees. A counterpane fairy appears and tells the boy if he focuses hard enough on one of the squares, he can travel within it and journey on an adventure.

 

MyCounterpane is the experiential version of this; a community that celebrates the virtual, remembers the real, and ultimately, counters pain with who we are, what we know, and how we feel.  May you find warmth and adventure as you journey within!
